Vanguards overcome recent setback, batted victory over Tycoons in diamond

In a triumphant comeback from their previous defeat, the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Vanguards showcased their baseball prowess, outplaying the College of Business Administration and Accountancy Tycoons to secure their first Intramurals 2023 victory, October 6.

Launching an incredible offensive onslaught with five consecutive home runs in the first inning, the Vanguards set the tone on the game, leaving the Tycoons in a perpetual struggle to bridge the gap throughout the match.

Guided by their captain Joshua Moises, the Vanguards charged ahead aggressively, putting immense pressure on the Tycoons' defense on the diamond, Moises then added to the Tycoons' defensive difficulties with a thunderous strike, making it difficult for the Tycoons to mount a comeback.

The Tycoons' offense started slowly in the first inning, as they struggled to put any runs on the scoreboard throughout the entire stint, handed the Vanguards a clear advantage in the game.

Vanguards orchestrated a spectacular display of pitching skill in the third inning, clinching a resounding victory with an impressive 4-point lead, 7-3.

Vince Suarez of Vanguards then openly discussed his team's recent defeat to the Reapers, "Siguro kasi halos lahat ng players namin baguhan pa kung ikumpara sa kalaban namin kahapon na may experience na, understandble naman yun pero hoping na sa sunod na magkalaban ulit kami babawi na."

He then made a promise to his college, vowing that their team would make an effort to overcome obstacles and win all of their upcoming games

"Kung mag tuloy tuloy ang ganitong laro na naga hit kami lahat at may depensa lahat, may tsansa na maka podium kami," he added.

In what is sure to be a highly anticipated clash, the Vanguards will now take on the winner of the match between the College of Natural Science and Mathematics and Senior High School.
