Tau Gamma Phi marks chapter’s 56th anniversary with ‘Libreng Sakay’ program

In celebration of its 56th founding anniversary, the MSU-Gensan chapter of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity launched the ‘Libreng Sakay’ initiative, last October 4.Utilizing at least 12 jeeps, the organization served roughly around 260 students, which traveled from MSU-CETD to MSU-GSC, with the aim of enhancing daily commute for MSUans.

Mar-Ann-Khalid Alih, the fraternity’s Acting Deputy Grand Triskelion or Vice President,

reflected on their commitment to fostering a supportive environment and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood with this program.

“One of the many principles that we practice is social responsibility and fostering a supportive environment where members of, not only the fraternity, but the community itself can thrive,” Alih said.

According to him, the MSU-GSC chapter “continues to practice these shared values and initiated this service in hopes of giving back to the MSU-GSC community” as their alma mater.

In addition, he revealed that the success of the initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of their alumni, many of whom are graduates of MSU-Gensan, with the support of local jeepney drivers.

“They didn't hesitate to extend their assistance and enthusiasm for the successful implementation of the Libreng Sakay program,” he said.

The fraternity participates in various outreach programs, empowering their members to make a difference both locally and nationally, building lifelong friendships.

Alih invites fellow MSUans to be part of their community with an aim to continue to ensure positive and enriching activities in the future.

“We would like to invite our fellow isko and iska to become part of a legacy that values integrity, service and brother/sisterhood in which we believe is built on respect, support, and the personal development of each member,” he challenged.
