Heroes were out and about during the thrilling feat in their inaugural step at the Paskuhan sa GenSan Tournament, the Generals from Mindanao State University-General Santos City (MSU-GSC) took on the challenge after being invited to play, leaving their mark with success in some events from December 13 to 15, in General Santos City.
University athletes united in a year-end showcase of athletic prowess, competing fiercely across five events—men’s basketball, men’s and women’s beach volleyball, and men’s and women’s volleyball—with unwavering determination to seize the championship cup.

Exemplifying unwavering determination and resilience, Arsahud Binago and John Lloyd Funa dominated their men’s beach volleyball campaign, clinching the championship title against the formidable Holy Trinity College Wildcats, with Binago earning the prestigious Most Valuable Player award.
On the other side of the court, the men’s volleyball, women’s beach volleyball, and men’s basketball teams all secured spots in the Top 4 of their respective competitions after battling their opponents in hard-fought clashes throughout the contest. Additionally, the women’s volleyball team was eliminated early in the tournament, ultimately finishing as participants.
The competition proudly showcased six distinguished institutions from the locale, each bringing their unique flair and spirit to the event. These included General Santos Foundation College, Inc., Holy Trinity College, Mindanao Polytechnic College, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, and MSU-GSC, all vye for victory with unwavering resolve and intensity.
For the Generals, the spotlight could not fully capture the contributions of everyone who played a meaningful role in the victory, but each player still deserved every bit of recognition for their efforts. It was a collective push to elevate the standing of student-athletes at the university and help them reach greater heights in pursuit of their dreams.
