The fair, which was held in front of the MSU Gymnasium, featured student groups and booths that offered various activities unique to their organization to encourage students to join them.

According to Leonard Tucjayao, SSC president, the fair was their  way  of encouraging freshmen to actively participate in various school organizations.

"Student volunteerism or student leadership is very dynamic and is very much active and aliive here in our institution. That’s why we have different varieties or organizations that we can offer to our freshmen," the president said.

Tucjayao added that this year's Opening Salvo is more unique as they introduced different competitions which weren't present in the previous ones such as the bench yell competition and TikTok dance competition.

Colleges and institutes across the campus also carried out a variety of activities for their constituents.

Jared Tenorio, a freshman from the College of Education (COEd), described his first day experience in the campus, hoping that he can learn more in this institution.

"Ginaexpect nako sa learning environment here sa MSU is igang jud siya and abog, pero okay lang, basta nakasulod mi diri sa MSU and MSUan najud ko." he expressed.

Furthermore, to make the day more convenient for students, the Transportation Committee and MSU Riders offered a "Libreng Sakay" program from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The Opening Salvo served as a vibrant welcome back for returning students and a promising start for newcomers to the MSU community.
