With 64 hiring companies from across Mindanao and the entire Philippines, nearly doubling last year's count of 33, the KCC Convention Center buzzed with interview desks and tables as MSU-GenSan Job Fair 2024 concluded on June 24th.

"Mas lumaki siya last year, at mas lumaki pa siya ngayon," Norman Ralph Isla, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, emphasized during his welcome remarks.

Princess Joannha Isla, President of the Seniors' Club - Batch Naraniag, expressed her delight at the students' active involvement.

"I'm so happy with the cooperation of the students. It's a success with the number of participants and number of participating companies, kay nag-multiply siya from last year," she shared.

The event's organization was driven by a clear goal, as Isla elaborated, "Among goal is 70 - among promise gid during the general assembly is 10 companies per different college. Na-reach man pud namo ang among goal."

Partnering companies set up interview desks, allowing students to freely approach and apply for jobs before graduation where out of 1,258 registrants, 11 applicants were hired on the spot.

Reflecting on the seamless execution of the event from Trabahow Episodes 1 and 2, Isla noted, "Everything went smoothly compared sa among first and second event."

This job fair, an annual celebration initiated in 2018, continues to grow each year, providing students with early job opportunities before their commencement exercises.

The event was spearheaded by the Seniors' Club Officers, with support from the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of Student Affairs.

Moreover, external non-university organizations, including the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) General Santos, MSU-GSC Alumni Association, and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), also extended their efforts to ensure the event's success.
