GENERAL SANTOS CITY, August 30 – Serving as a remarkable and welcoming bash for the freshies in Academic Year 2024-2025, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Mindanao State University-General Santos City (MSU-GSC), MSUans celebrated Freshies’ Night 2024: Get Bini-fied & Amplified–Freshies Night Glitz and Glide at the University Quadrangle.
The event, meant to acknowledge the new students in MSU through building positive interactions to keep them motivated throughout their academic journey, also marks as the genesis of the programs and activities of SSC.

Lady Marianne Cuenca, 1st year BS Agriculture and Biosystem Engineering student, expressed her satisfaction, saying that the event can improve the interpersonal skills of students.
According to Cuenca, it is very essential especially in building communication with other freshmen coming from different cultures.“Because of this freshman night, we are able to understand or indulge ourselves into their culture so we can create a great relationship or to build a group of circles that we are comfortable of,” she added.
Moreover, Jazmine Kaye Camacho, a 1st year Bachelor of Arts in History student said that the freshmen night is important because it allows students to mingle with others.
"I hope na may more activities pa na halos makasali kaming lahat, and also I hope that may battle of bands pa siguro, para mas maging hype yung crowd po," she expressed.
The streets rumbled as the Freshies' Night commenced with a parade, showcasing freshies representing their colleges by their trademark yells, followed by the Yell Competition, highlighting the energy of every participant.
The event continued with Mx. Dragayla, where LGBTQIA+ freshies showcased their talents in dancing with their production number, lip-syncing in Forda-Fra-A-A: The Lypsync Battle, and demonstrating their wit in The Clash of Wits and De-ba-Teh?.
Other activities included Connecting Ties, Random Play Dance, Awarding Ceremony, and a foam party with DJ Lexx.
