Leading the rest of the 11 campuses with a whopping 341 points, MSU-GenSan seized the championship title in the 7th Mindanao State University System Athletic Association (MSUSAA) Unity Games.

Owning the five-peat title, the Generals commanded the MSU-IIT cats to 1st runner up with 257 points as the cats scratched MSU-Marawi royals to 2nd runner up with 225 points, as announced at the closing ceremony held at MSU-GenSan gymnasium, June 5.

Before the announcement of the overall results, MSU-GenSan acting chancellor JD Usman D. Aragasi already affirmed that history would repeat itself as GenSan campus is clear-bound to owning another championship title as it was already a hundred points ahead of the MSU-IIT.

“I will not be preempting the decision of the committee, kaya lang, at this time, sinabi ko, until this time, I always submit with a phrase, history repeats itself,” Aragasi said.

Moreover, as the host of this year's unity games, Aragasi also looked back on his request to the MSU-GenSan constituents.

“Sabi ko, taga-GenSan, respect and take care of your visitors. I will assume that people in GenSan have done their part. They took care and they respect their visitors coming all the way from other campuses of the MSU system,” Aragasi remarked.

He also hopes that as the delegates go home to their respective campuses, they would not forget what they have seen and learned during their stay at the host campus.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the MSU had a long discussion at the Board of Regents, and eyes that in the future, MSUSAA will be an institutionalized annual sports competition in the MSU System.

Before the official overall results were announced, they first unveiled the host campus of the 8th MSUSAA unity games which is the MSU-Sulu campus.

Tailing the Marawi Royals were the Maigo Martians, Sulu Islanders, Tawi-tawi Dolphins, Maguindanao Trailblazers, Buug Dragons, Naawan Kingfishers, LNCAT Eagles, Sindangan Chiefs, LNAC Green Reapers, with 69, 67, 62, 55, 44, 36, 32, 29, 23 points, respectively.
