Another feather was added in the cap of Mindanao State University-General Santos City (MSU-GSC) as the Junior Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (JIECEP)- MSU-GSC delegates bagged the 1st runner-up title among the 24 competing teams in the Electronics Engineering Interscholastic Quiz Show- The Bit in the Bees Competition during the Institute of Electronics and Communicators of the Philippines (IECEP) National Student Summit, November 7-18.
The quiz bee team was composed of Yusra Hana Ambia, Jethro Batislaong, Diosdado Buslon, Clarence Mharc Cobrador, Laurenz Clyde Garcia, and Cid Jericho Turija.
Team captain Batislaong shared that the team barely have the enough time to review for the competition and so they relied on their stock knowledge.
"Despite the challenges, I believe that our collective efforts made it possible for us to achieve 1st runner-up," he added.
OTHER PERFORMANCES CHECKED
The said summit was composed of eight competitions including the E-Sportsfest, Social Competitions, Non-Academic Competitions, Programming Competition and Business Pitching Contest, CPD applied seminars, ECE Math Olympiad, Undergraduate Research Competition, Job Fair, Research Colloquium and Interscholastic Quiz Show.
Claiming the 8th place in the Math Olympiad Quiz is the team composed of Hizam Fareed Ambia, Mark Anthony Ibarra, and Sean Benedict Panal.
Meanwhile, Michaella Cabungcal Macasling, and Cherljohn Rondovio made it to the summit as chess participants.
The (IECEP) National Student Summit was conducted at Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City with the theme, "Electronics Engineers in the Forefront of Nation Building."
