The BMAP Festival 2024, celebrated with the theme “BMAP FEST 2024: Unveiling the Eminent Entrepreneurial Talents and Potentials of Business Students”,  is an event that gathers dynamic young entrepreneurs from various schools in Mindanao to demonstrate their expertise in various competitions.

Alithea Jamica M. Baranda, a 2nd year student of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management was crowned as Ms. BMAP 2024 Ambassadress, besting the representatives of 11 other schools.

Meanwhile, Rainier M. Salipoden, also a 2nd year student from the same program, was hailed as Mr. BMAP Ambassador 2024 2nd Runner Up.

Baranda also bagged 4 awards including Miss Congeniality, Best in Production Number, Best in Jeans Attire, and Miss Eloquent.

According to Baranda, her victory aligns with JIHRM's mission of providing competent human resources, demonstrating leadership's importance in resilience, adaptability, and inspiring others.

"Just like in HR, it’s about managing challenges, lifting people up, and making things work even in tough situations. That’s the kind of competence JIHRM stands for, and that’s what I brought to this competition,” she stated.

Moreover, Baranda explained how MSU-GSC helped her achieve the title.

“MSU Gensan has given me the tools, confidence, and opportunities to grow. It shaped who I am today and prepared me for challenges like this. I wouldn’t be here without the lessons I’ve learned from my university,” she said.

Baranda also highlighted her advocacy to maximize her platform to raise awareness about mental health, aiming to break the stigma surrounding mental wellness in the Human Resource (HR) department.

Other competitions during the festival included the BMAP Dancing Diva, BMAP Vocal Wars, Business Plan Competition, and BMAP Ambassador and Ambassadress.

This year’s festival included 11 competing schools in Mindanao and was organized by the BMAP-Mindanao Chapter, together with the Council of Management Educators and Professionals in the Philippines, Inc. (COMEPP, Inc.).

This is the second time that MSU-GSC has joined since the pandemic.
