Carving a history with a sandwich victory in Miss MSU, the College of Education’s bet Rhyzel Faye Magisulan sealed the Miss MSU 2024 crown along with the Best Advocacy title, beating the other seven candidates held at MSU Gymnasium, October 10.
Earning the crown at 18 years old, Magisulan, a first-year student from the Bachelor of Elementary Education, ensured that she was aiming for victory despite the obstacles that she encountered.

“I have really worked hard to aim for this kind of victory since it is a historical and remarkable moment. Actually, the obstacles that I encountered were that a lot of people were neglecting me, and because their attentions were nandoon sa ibang candidates,” she said.
However, despite the challenge she faced, it did not really hinder her that much, but yet, it did bother her because sometimes she was experiencing mental breakdowns and overthinking herself if she could prove herself enough to win.
Best Advocacy title
Moreover, she clinched another award named Best in Advocacy which showed how her community engagement elevated both inside and outside the university.
“My advocacy is really centered on peace, and it is also centered on the children who are in underserved communities. I think I won the advocacy because I am starting to implement it; I'm already in the pre-implementation phase,” she explained.
Ms. Hazel Jane Anating, COED president and Miss MSU 2022, stated that their candidate winning in the best advocacy is deserving.
“Honestly, she deserved the best advocacy because, as she said in the video, she immersed herself with the pre-implementation wherein I adopted a daycare center, and then I immersed her doon, para makita niya, how does it feel like to be in community engagement? Advocacy is not how you impress people but it’s how you implement it,” the COED president emphasized.
Furthermore, Anating expressed her contentment as Magisulan won the title and disclosed that she improved her performance and the way she answered the questions since in their college pageant.
Earning the Miss MSU Academic Ambassadress was Ms. Klyndy Baylon from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics for their third straight win of the said title, while the College of Social Sciences and Humanities bet Ms. Blessie Mae Nambatac secured the Miss MSU Sports, Culture, and Arts Ambassadress.
