In a harmonious display of talent and social conscioussness, the College of Agriculture (COA) Reapers strummed their way to victory, clinching the title of champion with a thought-provoking performance during the Acoustic Band Competition during the Musical Night of Intramurals 2024 held at the University Gymnasium, October 12.
In an interview with Bagwis, Joshua Tuani, member of the COA acoustic band, said that the goal of their performance was to emphasize “how unfair the world is.”“As a whole band, gi-try namog perform representing each individual status of life. Like poverty, to those who have money, those who have just a business o luging-lugi,” he explained.

Touching on themes such as corruption and poverty, their arrangement featured songs such as Upuan by Gloc-9, Tatsulok by Bamboo, and Kaloy by Dilaw, and Hallelujah composed by Leonard Cohen.
According to Tuani, their victory was largely because of how they internalized the songs they chose during, acting as the character portrayed in the songs during their practice sessions.“
Naa pud amoang mga bagtik, or mga bigatin na mga prof na nagtudlo sa amoa. Kudos ila sir Philip, sir Josh, sir Adrian, ila doc Jane and tanang prof sa [College of] Agriculture,” Tuani said, expressing his gratitude to those who helped their team.
Despite hectic schedules during preparations, with the majority of his band members being athletes, Tuani said that this was never goig to stop them from giving their all during the contest proper.
