Brgy. Fatima earmarks P700,000 for MSU back gate road concreting this quarter

With a Php 700,000 allocated budget from its Barangay Fund, the Barangay Council of Brgy. Fatima now awaits the approval of its endorsed road-concreting plan for the back gate of the Mindanao State University - General Santos (MSU-GenSan).

In an interview with Bagwis, Hon. Renante D. Curit, Brgy. Captain, revealed that he has already endorsed the plan to the City Engineer’s Office for approval of the preferred accredited engineering works.

“Gi endorse ko na para review sa plano. Pag balik ato dire, resolution na, pagkahuman, posting na dayun na. So nandoon sa kanila na ngayon kung tagalan nila, madugayan ta,” Hon. Curit remarked.

Furthermore, he said that once the plan is approved, the project will commence this last quarter of the year.

Reason for no previous road-concreting projects

Hon. Curit explained that while there had been budget allocations in the past, the City Engineer’s Office did not approve the plans because, based on the subdivision plan, “no road was designated in the area where the back gate road is situated.”

“‘Di siya na approve kasi wala sa subdivision plan na may kalsada, wala siyay na allocate na space intended for roads, mao to na gina-negotiate nalang nga bisag diha nalang. Kay kara nga lugar diha, buo na siya, so ang kalsada taman ra gyud sa block 1, then pasaka,” Hon. Curit explained.

When asked about the portion of the road to be concreted, Hon. Curit did not provide specific measurements but stated that it would depend on how much the P700,000 can cover.
