BAGWIS launches its official website; staff strives for more journalism milestones

Updated: Nov 7, 2022

In order to keep pace with the ever-changing technology, Bagwis, the official student publication of Mindanao State University-General Santos City, officially launched its official website, bagwispub.com, November 6.

The said website was divided into five departments, namely the news, opinion, feature, literary, and sports section.

"Now that we have shifted back into the paradigm of physical classes, it is only right that we keep up with the media digitalization. The members of the publication have been planning this since the first day of the resume of face-to-face classes, " the present Editor-in-Chief, Aubrey Maye A. Arrieta, quoted.

"To say that I am ecstatic would be an understatement, at long last, our blueprint did not remain as it was. I am grateful that we got to color the plans we sketched a few months back. Having this official website has actually fanned up flames within us even more to amplify the voices of the masses, defend freedom and publish truth," she added.

The current editorial board and staff, as well as their advisers, Engr. Steve Anthony Lim and Jibran Tomindug, CPA, look forward for more milestones that this publication will achieve this academic year.

BAGWIS is set to conduct its batch project at the end of this semester which opt to enhance the writing caliber of campus journalists and to combat the skyrocketing cases of disinformation and malinformation.
