ASTEEGs bag back-to-back champ titles in domineering baseball run over Anglers

Mindanao State University - General Santos City - With a storied legacy of baseball excellence, the College of Engineering (COE) ASTEEGs added another illustrious chapter to their reign by clinching yet another Gold, casting their shadow over the diamond field and outshining the College of Fisheries (COF) Anglers in a commanding 20-8 swing, in University Baseball Field, October 7.


In the high-stakes finals, both teams embarked on slow-batting journey, with the first inning unfolding in a low-scoring fashion, the ASTEEGs managed to notch double runs on the scoreboard, while the Anglers answered with a single run, setting the stage for a closely contested showdown.


The second inning proved to be a lightning-fast journey for the ASTEEGs, as Steven John Dante ignited their scoring spree, followed by an impressive six more runs in rapid succession, this offensive onslaught propelled them to a commanding lead over Anglers.


The Anglers showcased their formidable prowess as they executed a relentless run surge, spearheaded by Lyjohn Cabagong who initiated a powerful rally with five consecutive runs, effectively running over the ASTEEGs and turning the tide of the game in their favor.


With an unwavering championship spirit, the ASTEEGS mastered every ounce of their determination and skill to tip the scales of the game in their favor, creating an even greater challenge for the Anglers in their quest for a comeback.


"Ang maingon nako sa Fisheries is gahi gyud sila makalaban, consistent kaayo ilang dinulaan which is naka score man pud sila sa amoa ug daghan so worth it gyud sila na opponent,” said COE team captain Rich Vessel Tacusalme on their game with the relentless hitters from COF.


"Ang pinaka key na nag padaog saamoa kay teamwork og ang among enjoyment, importante ang enjoyment kay mao man ang purpose gyud sa intrams, para mag enjoy,” he added.
