Ninety-nine student organizations in the university have been recognized by the Office of Student Affairs, together with Sir Rhumer Lañojan, MAED; Dr. Mishell Lawas, D. Eng., Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs (VCAA); and JD Usman Aragasi, MPA, University Chancellor, last October 25 at the University Library Audio Visual Room (AVR).

From these organizations, 50 were categorized as academic organizations, while 40 of the remaining were pegged as non-academic organizations.

ON STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

VCAA Lawas commended the organizations, urging them to be responsible in their different functions at the university.

"This is a good practice and a platform to be responsible enough and always believe that responsibility must come from our own backyard in the university," she said.

"So you must be responsible in making all this money collection from your students, and even you have these different guidelines for the recognition, and I know all of you are compliant with this one," the VCAA added.

Chancellor Aragasi commended the newly recognized organizations during his message of support, highlighting the support system of the organizations for the university.

"When Director Lañojan is awarding the certificate, it has two prong impacts on you," Aragasi said.

"We bind ourselves that we will be supporting you, and on the other hand, you bind yourselves that you will also be collaborating, serving as the partner of the university," he continued.

GYM AND HOLIDAY INFO

He also revealed several news items to the student leaders, including the progress of the completion of the under-construction university gymnasium.

"Baka, very soon we will be starting the completion of our gymnasium, and that is in the pipeline," Aragasi mentioned.

"Meron na tayong 75 million to partially complete our gymnasium, pero ang goal ng top management is how we can improve the rounding of this gymnasium."

The university administration, Lawas and Aragasi, also disclosed the plan to adjust the school days of October 31 and November 3 into an asynchronous working day to complete the uniformity of the long holiday next week.

"Parang may mga araw na between holidays, para naman unahin namin 'yun," Aragasi said, implying the suspension of October 31 and November 3 working days.

"No physical appearance in the campus," Lawas interjects mid-speech of Aragasi, followed by a loud applause from the crowd.

The said plan is still to be processed by top management for approval and release of the official memorandum.
