15’s duel, Reapers flaunt sickles beheading Vanguards to a crucial victory

VICTORY UNLOCKED. The Daro Reapers celebrate their win against Vanguards at MSU-GSC Field, 22nd November.

With their scythes flaunted, the College of Agriculture Reapers hacked three penalties against the College of Social Sciences and Humanities Vanguards’ two, after moving to shootout and both plunged one goal to claim victory in Men’s Soccer, MSU General Santos City Field, November 22.

Reapers slashed Vanguards' shields as Joshua Guinto, Villa, tops CSSH’S June Christopher Ganayo, Kyle Crus Reyes, which was then sealed off by Cyrus Porras right-legged deep right strike, also featuring a battle of jersey 15s with John Goling and Joshua Von Moses Diones who both punched a ball at the first 60 minutes, bagging the COA a win in shootout.

The College of Agriculture controlled initial half’s midfield well, headed by Jhon Halaman who frontlines stroked several shots yet was easily cleaned tight towering defenders of the Vanguards.

Proficient early ball movement paid off as Reapers’ with jersey 15, Goling drives past opposing body-hugging defense and peeked a bursting gap with a 15-yards shot that slipped past Vanguard’s Zander Doctor palms, boosting up their scoresheet by one, 1-0, nine minutes elapsed.

Vanguards were hungry for goal at this juncture and they exemplified with their ferocious attacks challenging the Reapers keeper who saved Reyes’ sneaky right-end goal, 21:33 remaining in the clock.

Long until Vanguard’s Diones caps co-15 Goling with a goal of his own, as Reyes throws it in near box, with the both colleges stumbling until the ball went to his favor, surfacing a header against the Reapers’ keeper, 1-1, couple of minutes before the game was sent to extra time.

Fatigue and exhaustion did not bother both college’s players as they still erupt some tricks hidden in their sleeves just as Vanguards’ Londres hastes amidst Reapers, yet it was not just enough to nab a goal, forcing a penalty shootout.

Guinto started off with a lower left kick which then followed by Ganayo’s center kick deadlocking the game. However, Vanguards’ jersey one and 88 and Reapers’ Rudy Villafrancia and Sohail Yusoph missed their shots retaining the score not long until the College of Social Sciences kicker attempt was gracefully saved by the College of Agriculture’s warden which was then maximized by Porras reaping kick to seal up the win.
